The teak deck refit project on the Hallberg-Rassy 36 “Kobolt” focused on deep restoration and extending the lifespan of the original woodwork.

The process involved the complete removal of the old caulking followed by precision milling to deepen the seams, ensuring a high-resistance bond for the new sealant. During the refit, the teak planks were meticulously realigned and straightened, with all old bungs and screws removed. To provide superior fastening and maximize the wood’s usable wear thickness, new special extra-flat head screws were installed in deepened pilot holes. The project was completed with the insertion of new teak plugs and a final surface leveling, restoring the vessel to the high standards of craftsmanship and watertight integrity expected from the Swedish shipyard.
