hull&beam is the formalisation of a technical collective established on the island of Faial. Our structure is built on a network of specialists who share the same school of rigour and precision — combining expertise to deliver solutions that challenge the boundary between sea and land.

The collective is rooted in years of shared projects across different parts of Europe. It was through that experience — in boatyards, construction sites and projects of varied scale — that the idea emerged to formalise this collective and make its expertise available to those who need it.

We work together. For each project, we bring in the specific expertise required — whether in boat building, structural carpentry or bespoke design. This model allows us to be simultaneously local and international: working on Faial, across Europe, always to the same standard.
